Use Teleport.app with Cursor Teleporter

Use Teleport.app with Cursor Teleporter to trigger cursor movement from mouse-button tools, launchers, and apps that cannot open custom URLs.

Teleport

Teleport.app is a small helper for Cursor Teleporter. It is useful for tools that can launch an app but cannot open a custom URL.

When Teleport.app opens, it triggers Cursor Teleporter's configurable /teleport URL and quits right away:

cursor-teleporter:///teleport

That makes it a practical bridge for button-mapping apps, launchers, hardware controllers, and similar tools with limited action types.

When to use Teleport.app

Use Teleport.app when another app lets you assign a button or command to an application, but does not let you enter a custom URL.

For example, a tool may be able to launch Teleport.app, but not open cursor-teleporter:///teleport-next-screen directly. In that case, Teleport.app gives the tool a normal app target while Cursor Teleporter still receives a cursor action.

Configure what Teleport.app does

In Cursor Teleporter:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Teleport App.
  3. In Behavior, choose the action for /teleport.

You can choose:

  • Teleport to Next Screen,
  • Teleport to Next Point.

Teleport to Next Screen is the default for new users.

Because Teleport.app always opens /teleport, this setting also defines what Teleport.app does.

Recommended setup

If your external tool can only launch apps:

  1. Install and run Cursor Teleporter normally.
  2. Download Teleport.app from this article.
  3. Move Teleport.app to /Applications or another stable location.
  4. Open Cursor Teleporter settings.
  5. Go to Teleport App.
  6. Choose whether /teleport should move to the next screen or the next saved point.
  7. In the external tool, assign the button or command to launch Teleport.app.

Now pressing that button launches Teleport.app, which passes the selected action to Cursor Teleporter and then quits.

When direct URLs are better

If the external tool can open custom URLs, use Cursor Teleporter's URL API directly. Direct URLs are more flexible because each trigger can run a specific action.

For example:

  • cursor-teleporter:///store,
  • cursor-teleporter:///teleport-next-point,
  • cursor-teleporter:///teleport-next-screen,
  • cursor-teleporter:///highlight-cursor.

This is better when you want multiple buttons for multiple Cursor Teleporter actions.

Teleport.app limitations

Teleport.app has one job: open cursor-teleporter:///teleport and quit. It does not provide separate helper apps for point teleporting, screen teleporting, cursor highlighting, or edge teleporting.

If you need several distinct actions from the same external tool, use direct URLs, Apple Shortcuts, or AppleScript when the tool supports them.
